Council Tree Reports
Across Sydney’s many local government areas, council legislation controls the majority of what can and can’t be done to most trees. If you wish to prune or remove a tree on yours or a surrounding property, council may request an arborist report to supplement the application process in order for a works permit to be granted. If your local council has requested an arborist report or tree report, Tree Space Consulting can help.
TREE Impact Assessments
Whenever trees are found at a development site, in the Sydney area it is often required by local council to include a comprehensive tree impact assessment report as part of the development application. A tree impact assessment report is the duty of the project arborist during development planning. This report plays a crucial role in evaluating and mitigating potential impacts on the trees during the development process.
Tree Space Consulting can work with architects, builders and developers to create sustainable strategies that minimize negative impacts on trees while maximizing the useable space on a development site.
Tree Protection Plans
A Tree Protection Plan serves to safeguard trees within the project area throughout the various stages of development and construction. .
Tree Protection Plans are often required as part of an Arboricultural Impact Assessment, however can be created as a standalone guiding document.
Trees have aesthetic and cultural values that enhance the appeal of a development, attracting residents, visitors, and potential investors. Preserving trees during construction helps preserve these intangible qualities, adding value to the overall project and the surrounding community.
Aerial Assessments
Sometimes trees cannot be adequately assessed from the ground, or indications from basic assessments have warranted the next step of an aerial assessment. These can be used to investigate hollows or cracks, the extent of damage from extreme weather, or to gather samples for pest and disease identification. As a Certified Climbing Arborist as well as a Consulting Arborist, Delaney Smith from Tree Space Consulting can undertake aerial assessments for specific trees and if needed, integrate the findings into a comprehensive management plan.
Individual tree assessments
While some trees can make a considerable contribution to the look and feel of a home, the balance of amenity value with potential hazard become unmanageable.
Tree Space Consulting can work with property owners and residents to understand their requirements and the viability of retaining trees on their property. Individual tree assessments can be used to support applications to council for tree removal, or to provide guidance on improving the health and condition of a key contribution to the landscape.
